Burns Family Christmas Card 2017 - Behind the Scenes

The Christmas Card

Burns Family Christmas Card 2017

It is that time of year once again when everyone sends out Christmas cards to friends and family. Including us. Over the last few years, we have had lots of fun creating our Christmas card. We choose not to rely on standard store-bought cards or photo website templates. No, we would rather create our own.

So if you can’t get a good look at it in the above photo, here is the Christmas card for this year, both front and back:

We got all cozy in our pajamas (Mickey Mouse, of course) and had a nice photo session with Santa and Mrs. Claus. They were great sports in going along with Laura’s idea, by the way. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Claus! And thank you to Maggie Jamerson for being our photographer. And for letting us use her house. And her blanket. It is good to have nice friends!

If you want a better look at the individual photos, here they are:

Yes, these are the unedited versions. The photos were cropped a bit to make them fit on the card a little better. Apparently, in that last photo, Santa did not like the smell of our feet in the air!

Also, the snazzy background on the card is actually our Christmas tablecloth. I thought it was just the right kind of background for what I was looking for.

Reindeer Games

As with last year’s card, our favorite reindeer makes a return appearance. Which reindeer is that again? We haven’t really decided for certain. But he was a good sport in dressing up in the Mickey pajamas, too. Here is a better look at this guy:

He’s a pretty sharp-looking guy if I do say so myself.

So this year’s card may not have been quite as involved as last year’s card, but we still like it just as much. Who wouldn’t want to find something like this in their mailbox at Christmas?

Interesting Thought

When you are at the North Pole, no matter which way you go you are headed south.

Bible Verse

But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and lying in a feeding trough.” - Luke 2:10-12
