2023 Christmas Tree No. 2

2023 Christmas Tree No. 2

Burnsland
A Christmas tree blueprint is the second entry in the 2023 Christmas Tree series. Everyone knows how to make a Christmas tree, right? If not, then here is a handy guide to help you. Although there might not be much information here that you did not already know. And check out those archaic light bulbs? Haven’t those all been replaced by those fancy new energy-saving LED bulbs? But then haven’t blueprints been replaced by newer copies and electronic versions?

2023 Christmas Tree No. 1

Burnsland
The first of a few Christmas Trees for 2023 is a traditional tree with some simple decorations. As you may remember, I did a series of pumpkins for Halloween this year. If you consider two a series. But actually, each of those two art pieces contained several pumpkins, so that makes it more like a series, right? Anyway, I thought it would be fun to do something similar for Christmas, and Christmas trees were the obvious choice.

Burns Family Christmas Card 2022

Burnsland
As you may know, each year we try to come up with an entertaining Christmas card to send out to family and friends. Our cards are usually nothing too serious. Just something to bring a little Christmas joy. See some of our past cards here. As with last year, there was not a good time to get a photo of the three of us together, especially the kind of staged photo similar to what we have done in the past.

A Christmas Tiki for December

Merry Christmas! A jolly tiki out in the snow wishes you a Merry Christmas as the newest member of the Tiki of the Month Club from Steve’s Sketchbook. Usually, you would find a tiki somewhere warm, such as at the beach on a tropical island. But just maybe there could be a tiki at the North Pole, too. Santa Claus strikes me as being an eclectic decorator, after all. So why would he not have a tiki somewhere near his workshop?

Burns Family Christmas Card 2021

Burnsland
Christmas Greetings! Each year, we send out a Christmas card to family and friends. And each year we try to make our Christmas card just a little different from everyone else’s, to bring a smile and some Christmas joy to whoever we can. Usually, those Christmas cards involve some sort of photo of us, often inspired by what has happened that year. See some of our past cards here. However, this year we were faced with a little bit of a challenge.

Mobius the Christmas Goat

Burnsland
Merry Christmas! Mobius the goat wishes you a Merry Christmas! And while Mobius is not actually Santa Claus, he thinks it is fun to play the part from time to time. Mobius hopes that Santa is really good to you this year! Mobius the Goat has appeared in various situations during this past year, becoming the more or less official mascot of Burnsland. But I think this one is my favorite so far.

Burns Family Christmas Card 2020

Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year! As has become our custom, we sent out our very special Christmas card once again this year. Our philosophy is to send out something unique, something that you won’t get from anyone else. And we also want to make you smile a little, too. That’s our goal. See some of our past cards here. When Laura and I were talking about what to do for our Christmas card, we wanted to do something different from past years, and perhaps something tied to this (hopefully) unique year of 2020.

Must Be Santa From Steve's Sketchbook

The Man with the Bag Santa Claus himself is the latest subject to grace the virtual pages of Steve’s Sketchbook. No matter how he looks, you can always recognize Santa. He looks different just about every time you see him. He even looks different here than he does in the previous Santa Claus artwork that I shared. Maybe it is the red suit and white beard, but everyone knows who he is.

Christmas Wreath From Steve's Sketchbook

Green Christmas A quick sketch of a Christmas wreath is one of the many gifts to you from Steve’s Sketchbook. And when I say this is a “quick sketch,” I really mean it. I spent no more than 10 minutes working on this. I have spent a couple of hours on some of the other Sketchbook artwork posted here, but this one is just something quick. One thing that helped this go quickly was the “Snow Gum” brush in Procreate for iPad.

Laughing With Santa From Steve's Sketchbook

Having a Laugh A child laughs along with Santa Claus in this entry from Steve’s Sketchbook. And if you were wondering, this was based on a real event, sort of. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take photos of kids with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as I have enjoyed doing for several years now. It is always a fun time, and Santa and Mrs. Claus are great people, of course.
