I hereby declare the summer of 2024 to be the Summer of Fun! And it is official, because there is a logo and everything.
I like creating logos from time to time, as you may have noticed.1 They are usually just logos for various parts of the Burnsland website, but that’s fine.
So I had an idea about a summer logo, and I decided to make it happen. May and early June around here have been a little rough.
Sometimes, a refreshing is necessary to keep things current. I had been using the same Burnsland logo graphic for a while, and I decided it was time for something new and fresh. The new, fresh graphics have begun to roll out,1 so here is a look at what is new and where it all came from.
The above is a new version of the “Burnsland” wording, along with a new shape graphic, replacing the old “B in a circle” graphic that I created a long time ago.
The Love One Another logo lets you quickly know that a Burnsland website post is part of the 2024 theme of Love One Another. Creating the logo was also a bit of fun.
I wanted something eye-catching and easy to read. And circular, just because. Circles make the world go round. Because the world is round.
I wanted it to communicate “love” besides just having the word “love” on the logo.
The logo for our 30th anniversary 2023 Hawaiʻi trip is an adventure patch. All that stitching took a lot of time! Well, sort of.
Every time we go on a major trip (the definition of which changes over time), I like to come up with a logo for that trip. I then use that logo as an anchor for the “home base” website page about the trip, which hopefully makes that trip page easy to find.
