Palm Tree Island and Moon

Palm Tree Island and Moon

Burnsland
The full moon rises above a palm tree island in the tropics somewhere. Although I do not know where this actually is. I suppose you can add the moon to some of my “typical” art elements, joining palm trees, islands, and Tikis. Surprisingly, there is not a Tiki in this art, although there was one in another recent piece, which once again also included the moon. I think that after drawing lots of blue skies with clouds, I started to get tired of that and instead switched to the moon and a night sky.
Kaena Point Hawaii Poster

Kaena Point Hawaii Poster

Continuing in the Posters series, here is a travel poster for Kaʻena Point State Park on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. If this location looks a little familiar, the photo that the poster is based on was shared in a recent Adventures by Burnsland post. A few days after that post, I was looking for something to draw. I had loved the photo, so I decided to make a poster version of it, using the photo as a rough guide.
Tiki by Moonlight

Tiki by Moonlight

Burnsland
A Tiki enjoys an evening on the beach by moonlight, with the ocean waves behind him and the moon shadows in front of him. I had not drawn anything in a while, because I could not come up with something to draw. After waiting unsuccessfully for inspiration to strike, I started to think about what I could draw. I realized that I had not drawn a Tiki lately, so I decided that would be my subject.
A Tiki for Thanksgiving

A Tiki for Thanksgiving

Burnsland
A Tiki has borrowed a hat from a Pilgrim on a beautiful autumn day for the Thanksgiving season. This Tiki is thankful to the Pilgrim for loaning him his hat on this sunny day, so perhaps the Tiki should look into getting a hat of his own. However, he is not quite sure what style his hat should be, so he is checking out his options. And I am thankful for a Tiki return, since we have not seen any of them around here in a few months!
