Steve on a Tractor
Cartoon Steve drives a tractor through an overgrown field to cut the grass. ‘Tis the grass cutting season, after all!
One day last week, I had planned to go out after work and start cutting the grass in the pasture. However, the weather had other plans, so I decided to postpone getting struck by lightning, I mean cutting grass. Because I had some extra time on my hands, I decided to draw a picture of cutting the grass since I could not actually cut the grass.
For some wishful thinking, I drew Cartoon Steve cutting the grass on a sunny day. A few days later, that actually happened, too. So maybe next I should draw Cartoon Steve sitting in the shade while a robot cuts the grass, just to see if that might happen, too!
Also, the grass that I did cut was actually much taller than what you see here. But I wanted you to still be able to see the tractor, so I did not grow the grass at its actual size, because it had gotten to be rather tall!
Get Started
It seems like we spend lots of time cutting grass every summer. That is one of the benefits of living where we live. It sometimes seems like a hassle, but then once we get started doing it, it never takes as long as I thought it would.
That is true of so many things. I put off getting started on something because it might be difficult or take a while. But then once I finally get started, those things are usually not as difficult or take as long as I think they will. And if I had gotten started earlier instead of spending all of that time putting it off, I could have been finished that much sooner, too.
Sometimes all it takes is that little push to get started. Because you will definitely never finish something if you do not get started. And then the longer you wait to get started, the farther out you are putting the finish.
Don’t overthink things, and don’t put things off too long. Get started!
So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. - Galatians 6:9-10
About the Artwork
Obviously, this is not a photo-realistic tractor. If you are a tractor person, you could probably find all sorts of inconsistencies here. I won’t even bother pointing them out to you. Instead, this is just supposed to represent a tractor, and hopefully it accomplishes that task.
Unlike the previous Steve Draws a Picture artwork, which had more solid colors in the background, I went back to a watercolor background for this one, except for some solid grass, which was created using a grass brush in Procreate. The watercolor backgrounds I have created do not have all that much detail, but I think they still get the point across.
And no, this site is not going to become just a place where I draw pictures of myself, er, Cartoon Steve. I have other things coming up, too. So it is just a coincidence that there are two Cartoon Steve drawings in a row.
