Disney's Animal Kingdom in Watercolor

Burnsland
Tree of Life A view of the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom finishes up the Four Parks of Walt Disney World in Watercolor series from Steve’s Sketchbook. As with the artwork from Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney-MGM Studios (or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, if you prefer), this Animal Kingdom artwork was meant to invoke the feel of the park rather than to present a photo-realistic look at the park. To accomplish that, I chose this view of the Tree of Life as seen across the Discovery River.

Epcot at Walt Disney World in Watercolor

Spaceship Earth at Epcot Spaceship Earth and Epcot Center at Walt Disney World get the watercolor treatment from Steve’s Sketchbook, following up after the Magic Kingdom from last week. Actually, I did this painting before the Magic Kingdom painting. But I thought it would make more sense, at least in my mind, to share them in chronological order based on park opening dates. That is just the way my mind works, I guess.

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Watercolor

Main Street and Castle A stylized watercolor view of Main Street USA and Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is from Steve’s Sketchbook. I had an idea to do a series of watercolor-style pieces of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. Why not start with the first park to open chronologically? Of course, that would be the Magic Kingdom. I did not want to do some sort of photorealistic artwork, because I could just post a photo that I have taken and accomplish the same thing.
